Biofilm is present in every water system. Every pipe, filter, pump, tank and nozzle in a greenhouse is contaminated with biofilm.

In addition to causing clogging in drip emitters, filters, nozzles and other irrigation equipment, biofilm can harbour pathogens, acting as an incubator that easily distributes harmful bacteria, fungus and viruses directly to plants.
