Sept. 5, 2012, Milton, Ont. — Is your retail operation a cut above the rest?
Garden Centres Canada (GCC) has launched the Chrysler Garden Centre of the Year Award program to help better recognize the professional work of retail members of the association.
This new program is open to members only.
While this is the first year for this award, GCC has handed out five awards over the past four years to members based on its annual inspection program. Awards will no longer be tied to inspections. However, inspections will continue to be offered in 2013.
This new award is open to companies of all sizes. One overall winner will be selected each year, along with category winners. Companies will be judged on one or all the following criteria:
• Growing teams.
• Growing connections.
• Growing sales.
• Growing gardeners.
• Growing with technology.
• Growing environments.
• Continuous growth.
Detailed information on the entry criteria can be found on the CNLA website at www.cnla-acpp.ca/retailers. All submissions must be received by midnight on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012.
The winner will be announced during the CNLA National Awards of Landscape Excellence, to be held in Niagara Falls in February 2013. Category winners will be notified and promoted at the awards ceremony, as well as in CNLA awards communications. They will also receive economy airfare for two and two nights’ accommodation at the Hilton Fallsview hotel.
Winners will receive significant exposure through press releases, on the CNLA website and in its newsletter.
The National Awards of Landscape Excellence is an annual gala evening dedicated to showcasing the highest level of professionalism in Canada’s landscape sector. Each province nominates members who are then entered into the national program. There are five award categories relating to the three sectors of CNLA: landscapers, growers and garden centres.
The CNLA is a national not-for-profit federation of nine provincial landscape and horticulture associations representing over 3,800 members in the landscape, retail garden centre and nursery sectors.
