Container trials attracts hundreds of growers

July 25, 2013, Simcoe, Ont. — Several hundred growers from across
Ontario and Quebec attended this week's open house at the Sawaya Garden
Trials.

July 25, 2013, Simcoe, Ont. — Several hundred growers from across Ontario and Quebec attended this week's open house at the Sawaya Garden Trials. (There were a couple of U.S. licence plates in the parking lot, too.)

Representatives of a number of breeders were on hand to talk with growers.

About 2,200 varieties were in the trials. The focus was on containers. The annual hanging basket competition also attracted considerable attention; visitors could vote on their favourites and the results will be announced in the magazine later this year.
