Canada Blooms donates plants to seniors lodge

March 21, 2016  By Dave Harrison

March 21, 2016, Toronto – The many plants and flowers that gave Canada Blooms life will continue to bring joy to Torontonians.

The show will donate plants to Carefree Lodge, a long-term care home in North York, and will be shared with residents and adult day program clients of Cummer Lodge and Willowdale Manor Supportive Housing site.

Some 600 plants will be delivered tomorrow (March 22).

“While these plants look absolutely breathtaking here at Canada Blooms, I have no doubt they will look even better being enjoyed by the residents of Carefree Lodge,” says Canada Blooms general manager Terry Caddo.

“It’s amazing to see the impact of the show live on by bringing joy to those who will genuinely appreciate the plants.”

Celebrity gardener Mark Cullen and Councillor David Shiner will help deliver the flowers.

This will be the eighth year that Canada Blooms has donated show plants to long-term care homes.

Canada Blooms ran from March 11-20 at the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place in Toronto.
