July 6, 2017  By Dave Harrison

July 6, 2017, Victor, NY – BioWorks has been issued a U.S. patent for its RootShield® PLUS+ biofungicide.

This next-generation RootShield product prevents diseases caused by soil-borne phytophthora species and offers improved control of hot season pythium diseases. RootShield PLUS+ also controls soilborne diseases caused by fusarium, pythium, rhizoctonia, thielaviopsis and cylindrocladium species.

Its two active ingredients, Trichoderma harzianum strain T-22, and Trichoderma virens strain G-41 grows on roots and in surrounding soils “shielding” them against root-damaging fungi for up to 12 weeks, while promoting healthier root systems and increasing root mass potential.
