‘Autumn Leaves’ wins major Japanese award
Jan. 21, 2016 — Dummen Orange’s ‘Autumn Leaves’ poinsettia was among Best Flower Award winners in this year’s Japan Flower Selection competition.
This is described as one of the most competitive awards programs in the Japanese market.
‘Autumn Leaves’ was nominated by the Hakusan Company Ltd., an agent for Dummen Orange varieties in Japan. Hakusan has seen considerable interest for the variety in the market.
‘Autumn Leaves’ is impressing consumers with its apricot-gold colour that fits in so well with the general trends of copper and white in home décor. It also has dark-green leaves, features compact growth and good branching.
The breeder, Ruth Kobayashi, has been working for Dummen Orange at the Ecke Ranch for more than 10 years.
