A.M.A. unveils new name

Announced during the Canadian Greenhouse Conference last week, A.M.A. Plastics has changed their corporate name to A.M.A. Horticulture.

“A.M.A. has always been fully immersed in horticulture,” said Connie Bradt-Monsma, managing director of A.M.A. Horticulture. “This name change is our declaration of who we truly are as a company and, more importantly, who we serve.”

The name change better reflects their current offerings and solutions. One of the largest suppliers of plug and propagation trays in Canada, the Kingsville-based distributor also offers custom containers, substrates and supplies for a wide range of crops including flowers, vegetables, berries and medicinal cannabis. Many also know them for Al’s Flower Pouch and Ellepots, as well as the RootSmart propagation system developed with Vineland Research and Innovation Centre.

“Our experienced team has lived on the other side of the fence and knows the trends, opportunities and pain points of the horticulture industry,” said Rick Bradt, Managing Director of A.M.A. “We go beyond the product by helping our customers find the right solution to achieve their unique goals and improve their profitability – today and over the long term. If the solution doesn’t exist, we work with the customer to build it from scratch.”

Different crops and greenhouse operations have different needs. To meet them, the company works with their customers to design crop-specific substrates, custom propagation packages, plug trays and containers, unique growing systems that support automation and more.
