For the fifth year in a row, A.M.A. Plastics Ltd. has contributed a portion of its Canadian sales of Al’s Flower Pouch to support the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada (BTFC).

Improved sales in Canada meant a larger donation for 2007. Shown in the photo is A.M.A.’s Rick Bradt, presenting a cheque for $5,777.35 to BTFC executive director Susan Marshall (right), and BTFC Development Manager Susan Relecom.

This brings A.M.A.’s fiveyear total to more than $34,000. Marshall and Relecom are holding the Brain Tumour Foundation version of Al’s Flower Pouch. In addition to other Canadian Flower Pouch sales during the 2006-07 season, A.M.A. sold about 85,000 of these specially printed pouches, which include the BTFC logo, its toll-free number and the website address. While Bradt has been tumour-free for three years, brain tumours affect 55,000 other Canadians, with about 10,000 new patients diagnosed each year.

The BTFC offers patient and patient family support, provides research assistance, and supports the Brain Tumour Tissue Bank in London and its efforts to supply researchers throughout the world with brain tumour tissue samples. Connie and Rick Bradt would like to thank their staff at A.M.A., the staff and volunteers at the BTFC, and loyal Al’s Flower Pouch customers who have helped make this fundraising effort such a success.

The company is celebrating its silver anniversary this year, having begun operations in 1982.
