The shape of the IV Gutter is totally different than the traditional gutter. It is still an open gutter, but the drain channels are underneath the unit. This makes sure that fruits, leaves and other debris won’t fall into the drain channels.

Because it is an open gutter, there will still be light and fresh air underneath it, which prevents the growth of roots into the drain channels. This results in clean drain channels, which decreases the cleaning cost and reduces the risk of diseases. There is still the option to clean the inside of the gutter when needed.
Besides a higher load capacity, the IV Gutter is also very suitable for organic growing. The gutter is coated on both sides with the mandatory USDA food safety coating.
FormFlex/Metazet can supply the IV gutter in several desired widths, depending on the growing medium and customer preference.
Advantages of the IV gutter:
• Less dirt in drain channels.
• Reduces the risk of diseases.
• Decreases cleaning cost.
• Possibilities to clean the inside of the gutter when necessary.
• Higher load capacity.
Village Farms in Texas has installed 20 acres of IV Gutter. The next major project will be five acres at Cris-P in Mexico.
