New high-tech solar greenhouse in Italy

Debets-Schalke has just unveiled a large new high-tech solar greenhouse project in north-eastern Italy, consisting of three Venlo greenhouses (43,000m²) with 3 MW of power being produced.

The company states that there is the ‘possibility to provide transparent solar panels to lose no light.’

Debets lists the following attributes of the solar systems on their website as follows:

– Optimised for plant growth and for generating solar energy
– Dutch technology
– Panels installed at relatively low costs
– Maximum use of roof surface
– Frameless laminates integrated in the roof
– Framed panels integrated in the roof
– Easy to install
– Panels manufactured in Europe
– Variable panel thickness is possible
– Easy to replace panels (individually)
– Highest level subsidy (depends on country)
