November 9, 2016  By Dave Harrison

Nov. 9, 2016, Guelph, Ont. – Engage Agro Corporation has launched two new products for use on greenhouse crops.

Talus™ is a highly effective group 16 insect growth regulator (ai: buprofezin) that selectively targets whiteflies with no harmful effects to beneficial insects and pollinators. The dry flowable formulation can be safely used on greenhouse ornamentals and vegetables with a two-day PHI for cucumbers and tomatoes, and a three-day PHI for peppers. It is highly compatible with resistance management and IPM programs that include the use of biological control agents.

FujiMite® is a group 21 contact miticide / insecticide (ai: fenpyroximate) with broad spectrum control of mites as well as suppression of whiteflies that can be applied on greenhouse ornamentals and vegetables with a one-day PHI for tomatoes, peppers and eggplant, and a seven-day PHI for greenhouse cucumbers.

FujiMite stops feeding damage immediately after application. It is active on all developmental stages of mites and provides ovicidal activity on eggs. FujiMite is IPM compatible and an excellent choice for resistance management.

Jouke Sypkes, product manager for Engage Agro, points out “these two products have very effective active ingredients that provide greenhouse operators with some highly sought after tools to fight whiteflies and mites,” noting that, “growers have been asking for these for quite some time.”

Talus and Fujimite are now available through greenhouse ag retailers across Canada.
