Sept. 24, 2012 — The horticultural scientists and plant biologists behind the LiveWall system have devised three LiveSoil formula mixes to support plant health.

LiveSoil offers formulas for sedums and succulents, annuals and vegetables, and perennials, herbs and tropicals.

“As part of the four years of R&D we devoted to LiveWall design, we tested and refined three soil mixes to create the proper soil for the various types of plants landscape architects and designers can include in LiveWall installations,” said Dave MacKenzie, horticulturalist and president of Hortech, Inc. and its LiveWall, LLC and LiveRoof, LLC subsidiaries. “LiveWall offers incomparable versatility for designing living walls.”

LiveWall is the combined result of architectural design, systems engineering, and horticultural science — bringing together aesthetic, physical, and functional attributes into a biological environment that enables plants to thrive.

Licensed regional growers across Canada and the United States customize plant selection for every LiveWall project. In Canada the grower network includes LiveWall Ontario (Mt. Brydges, Ont.), Pépinière Premier Plant (Saint-Sulpice, Que.), Eagle Lake Turf Farms Ltd. (Strathmore, Alta.), and N.A.T.S. Nursery Ltd. (Langley, B.C.).
