Map of Alberta greenhouses and garden centres reaches more than 80,000 views

A map of Alberta’s independently owned greenhouses and garden centres has garnered over 80,000 views and counting.

Created by Debbie Foisy, owner and operator of Deb’s Greenhouse in Morinville, Alta, the Google map acts as a very handy resource for the public just ahead of the gardening season.

“Take a look at the map,” says Foisy. “You might be pleasantly surprised there’s so many family-owned greenhouses here.”

A few years ago, Foisy created a smaller map highlighting the local greenhouses in Sturgeon County. “Since then the map has extended to all of Alberta,” she writes. “This map showcases family, independently owned greenhouses that are grower/retailer and sell to the public. “

There are currently 187 greenhouses on the Alberta Greenhouse Drive map, and it continues to grow. Most locations will open to the public in May and June. Each pin allows for easy access to greenhouse location, hours and other key information.
