– One of the newest installations of the VertiCrop™ vertical growing
system will be showcased later this month at Paignton Zoo on the south coast of
Devon in the United Kingdom.
Valcent EU is planning a Verticrop launch on Sept. 30th at the zoo.
Some 300 people are expected to attend, including officials from the parent
company Valcent Products Inc. , as well as other shareholders. Pictures and a
short video will be posted to the parent company’s website in early October.
Valcent EU managing director Chris Bradford said the project was
completed within budget and on time. “This means that the company and its contractors
have worked well together and can now assemble and ship commercial size
VertiCrop units in a seamless manner.”
Plant curator Kevin Frediani said zoo officials are confident the system
will produce a variety of vegetables and crops at a great cost-savings for the
zoo, with the added value of producing fresh and more nutritious food on a
year-round basis.
