June 18, 2013, Menlo Park, CA — Facebook has rolled out hashtags in order to make it easier for users to follow conversations.
Like Twitter and Pinterest, Facebook now allows clickable hashtags, which allow users to add context to a post or indicate that their postings are part of a larger discussion. When users click on a hashtag, they can see a feed of what other people and Pages are saying about the topic.
According to Facebook, if you share a public post, such as a post on a Facebook Page, anyone who clicks the hashtag can see your post in that feed. So a post about your shop's great "#staycation" specials will show up to all users checking out the #staycation" feed.
