February 28, 2012  By Canadian Garden Centre & Nursery

Feb. 28, 2012, Mississauga, ON – The International Home and Garden Show will deliver a celebrity line-up and full plate of the season’s designer trends, April 12 to 15 at the International Centre in Mississauga, Ont.

As the original two-in-one show for design and gardening advice, the International Home and Garden Show and Successful Gardening Show features over six acres of home and garden shopping and expert advice from over 500 exhibitors.

“Spring is one of the most popular times for people to rejuvenate their home, both inside and out.  We’ve shifted our show dates to reflect the reality of the season and allow people to get going with plans as soon as they get home,” said show manager Paul Newdick.

This year’s Celebrity Superhouse Theatre and Celebrity Experts Garden Theatre line-up is blooming with insightful designers and seasoned gardening gurus who take the hassle out of indoor and outdoor home improvement. The popular Ontario Horticultural Association’s Floral Design and Plant Competition will invite avid gardeners from across the province to compete.  Visitors can tour hundreds of floral designs while they take in the show.

Other highlights of the show will include:

  • Popular decorating personality Karl Lohnes. Seen on Canada AM, read in Metro and enjoyed across the country, Lohnes provides much-needed clarity on how to decorate living spaces of every size. From choosing the right shade of green, to finding the perfect focal point to display artwork, Lohnes helps show-goers get it right the first time.
  • Vicky Sanderson and Kimberley Seldon tell you what’s buzzing this season, while Levolor Canada spokesperson and CityLine guest expert Mary Dobson leaps into the future with a 2013 forecast.
  • The Marilyn Denis Show’s outdoor and gardening expert Owen Reeves, landscape designer Beth Edney and gardening goddess Cristina daSilva offering tips to transform a backyard into an eco-conscious oasis.

Visitors can also see what’s new at the Green Street Pavilion. Only at the Successful Garden Show will attendees be able to see, shop and experience the People’s Choice Landscape Awards, Gardeners Marketplace and the Wine and Dine Village.

The International Home & Garden Show and Successful Gardening Show kick off  April 12 and runs through April 15 at the International Centre, 6900 Airport Road, Mississauga.
