Myers Industries Lawn and Garden Group sold

Feb. 20, 2015, Twinsburg, OH – The company management of Myers Lawn and Garden Group along with Wingate Partners V, L.P. have acquired the Lawn and Garden business from Myers Industries, Inc.

The new company name is The HC Companies, Inc.

The HC Companies will continue as a leading North American provider of horticulture containers supplying the greenhouse, nursery and retail markets under the brand names Dillen®, ITML®, ProCal®, Listo™, Akro-Mils Lawn & Garden®, and Planters’ Pride®.

Myers Industries announced its intent to sell the Lawn and Garden business in June of 2014 and concluded a definitive agreement with Wingate Partners last month.

Wingate Partners, a Dallas, Texas-based private equity firm, was founded in 1987 to purchase controlling equity investments in manufacturing, distribution and services businesses.

Included in the acquisition are manufacturing facilities and offices located in Twinsburg, OH, Middlefield, OH, Sparks, NV, Sebring, FL, and Brantford and Burlington in Ontario.
