Riverwoods, Ill. (Market Wire)  – Interior plant design and maintenance giant, Initial Tropical Plants (ITP), recently announced the acquisition of Planteriors, an interior landscaping business that serves the South Florida tri-county markets including Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties as well as the Florida Keys.

Planteriors was established in 2003 by Gary Spielfogel with investor support and employs 10 people to service major hospitality industry clients such as the Polo Club in Boca Raton, Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove, The Westin Fort Lauderdale, the Hyatt Regency Miami and several properties owned by Ocean Properties Ltd. Hotels & Resorts.

“The Planteriors acquisition adds vital talent and resources to Initial Tropical Plants’ Florida-based operations,” said Bob Thomas, ITP president. “Planteriors’ meshes with our business but with a twist,” says Barry Clements, ITP regional vice-president. “They provide a longer lasting alternative to cut flowers that allow us to provide orchids and bromeliads in custom arrangements that are tall and spectacular. The unique method utilized to craft the designs provides a substantially longer shelf life than other more conventional methods.”

Initial Tropical Plants, Inc. is a subsidiary of Rentokil Initial plc., a publicly traded international business service organization based in the U.K.
