Industry night at Canada Blooms

March 21, 2013  By Canadian Garden Centre & Nursery

Mar. 21, 2013, Toronto — Canada will feel a touch of spring Thursday evening as Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne presents a special green industry award at Canada Blooms' industry night.

The presentation, set for 6:00 p.m. on the Unilock Celebrity Stage, will launch the industry night event, when members of the landscape and horticulture trades are recognized for their contributions, from high-style garden design to behind-the-scenes facilitation.

"The horticulture industry gives so much to Ontario," said Tony DiGiovanni, Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association executive director. "Its products uplift our health and spirits and its companies promote prosperity in every community. It is thrilling to see the premier recognize and appreciate the industry's importance."

"Flowers from Ontario help express emotions; our industry helps drive its economy. Premier Wynne's appearance at Canada blooms expresses this message beautifully," added Dean Shoemaker of pickOntario.

Canada Blooms runs through Sunday at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto. For more information, visit
