April 15, 2015, Halifax – The Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture says the cost of repairing farms damaged by this winter’s heavy snowfall is adding up.
So far, the federation says the damage assessment has topped $8.5 million and the group is hoping the government will provide disaster relief.
For greenhouse growers, up to 75 per cent of some farmers’ buildings have collapsed and are beyond repair.
