Grower getting close to energy independence

Mor Gro Farms is hoping that a switch to biomass gasification and solar power will help its Leamington, Ont., operation achieve energy independence by May.

“The system uses a burning process that reaches almost 1,500 F to turn pellets made of waste materials – including everything from wood chips to used tires – into a combustible gas that is used to heat the greenhouse via boilers.”
