The recent Canada Blooms show in Toronto marked the introduction of Landscape Ontario’s ‘Green for Life’ program where over 70,000 people toured the ‘Green for Life’ display garden, connecting to over 2,000 members committed to inspire Ontario’s outdoor living. In addition to the garden, the new tagline and logo featuring landscapeontario.com ‘Green for Life’ will appear on job site signs, sales literature and vehicles of Landscape Ontario member companies. A major part of the ‘Green for Life’ program is connecting the public to green industry experts.

“We are already getting hundreds of online questions from the public on all areas of outdoor living.” quotes Robert Ellidge, web editor for the ‘Green for Life’ program. “For the ‘Ask an Expert’ section of the newly revised www.landscapeontario.com, we are answering questions covering all areas of gardening and garden design, and on a wide range of ‘how to’ topics from how to maintain a healthy lawn to how care for specific types of plants.”

In addition to ‘Ask an Expert’, we have added ‘Garden Design 101’ for ideas on how to use colour and texture in the garden and the ‘Plant Resource’ section contains a selection of new plant varieties for the upcoming season. ‘Award Winners’ is a stunning collection of the very best projects from Landscape Ontario members over the past years.

“The ‘Professionals’ Gallery’ also inspires with hundreds of award winning images of beautiful outdoor spaces, to illustrate what is possible with today’s materials, techniques and expertise. The website will connect the public to our amazing membership of landscape and nursery professionals,” says Denis Flanagan, director of public relations at Landscape Ontario. “Our province is blessed with some of the best designers in the world. When you see the magic designers can create in an outdoor living space, you begin to understand our excitement regarding the consumer outreach program. Connecting the public to the outdoors is what we do best.”
