July 11, 2013  By Canadian Garden Centre & Nursery

July 11, 2013, Chicago — Gardening will step into the spotlight later this month, debuting at the largest event for women in the social media world.

Garden Media Group
will exhibit at the annual BlogHer Conference for women in social media. BlogHer, which reaches more than 92 million women in the United States alone each month, is a cross-platform media network created by, for and with women social media leaders.

In 2012, 5,000 bloggers attended BlogHer '12, which brought together social media experts in food, parenting, health and wellness, entertainment, style, social change, politics, technology and business. Garden Media, a PR firm based in Philadelphia, will be the first company to introduce gardening at the show.

"As first time BlogHer sponsors we want to ignite a gardening fever with some of the world's most influential bloggers who can reach a new audience and share their stories about the joys and rewards of gardening. In today's noisy marketing space, it's crucial to capture the attention of leading bloggers," said Susan McCoy, president of Garden Media.

"Bloggers are extremely influential. They are the trusted friend to literally hundreds of thousands of potential new gardeners, and BlogHer is the place to get to know them."

Garden Media will open its Garden Shop from July 25 to 27 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The booth will allow attendees to “shop” in a beautiful pop-up tent filled with flowering plants and new garden products, as well as giveaways, and educational materials on gardening, including top gardening trends.

“With 25 years of experience in public relations, we know the importance of connecting with media influencers on a personal level. Developing meaningful and beneficial relationships at BlogHer ’13 will help us reach more people and get them into gardening,” added McCoy.
