Frank Jonkman Joins GGS

June 29, 2009 – GGS announced today the forming of a new company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Growers Greenhouse Supplies Inc. The new company JGS Limited services the specialized greenhouse markets which include research centers, institutional glass enclosures, teaching greenhouses, etc.

Frank Jonkman Sr. has assumed the role of  Manager for the new company.  Ray Gohn, a former employee of Jonkman Greenhouse Systems joins JGS as Plant Manager

GGS is a respected leader in the Commercial Greenhouse Industry and Retail Garden Centers worldwide.

Frank Jonkman is the premiere builder of institutional greenhouse projects.

“The addition of Frank Jonkman to the GGS group of companies strengthens us as leaders in turnkey project management for all greenhouse needs, whether they be conservatories, retailers, research greenhouses, or commercial operations.”  says  Leigh Coulter, one of the owners of GGS.

When asked why he gave up Jonkman Greenhouse Systems, Frank said “I know how to design and build greenhouses for schools, conservatories, garden centers, and research facilities.  And I am the best in the world at what I do!  But the business has changed, and it requires more business administration.  GGS is a large company with the people and the financial resources to really grow.”

Gerry Harrison, one of the owners of  GGS commented “We have been looking for several years to get more involved with Institutional Greenhouse Projects.  When the opportunity arose to have Frank join our team we jumped at it.  I don’t think anyone in the greenhouse industry would argue that Frank has more experience in these specialized greenhouses than anyone else.”

In addition to Frank and Ray, Shane Coleman, Bill Stark, and several other key employees round out the JGS  team. bringing  over 100 years of experience in specialty greenhouse design, manufacturing, and construction.

Background:
Frank Jonkman was the founder and President of  Frank Jonkman & Sons Ltd. and Jonkman Greenhouse Systems. He has been designing, manufacturing, and building greenhouses since 1974.

Frank is known for manufacturing a wide range of greenhouse structures, including freestanding or gutter connected truss and arch houses. Clear truss spans range from 18' to 50'. He is also known for detailed customization to meet very specific customer requirements.
