Floral Paradise Trade Show hits Mississauga today!
The
floral industry is invited to attend a brand new floral trade show
entitled ‘Floral Paradise’ at the Ontario Flower Growers in
Mississauga, Ont. The exciting event begins today, Friday, Aug. 8 and runs
until Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008.

invited to attend a brand new floral trade show entitled ‘Floral
Paradise’ at the Ontario Flower Growers in Mississauga, Ont. The
exciting event begins today, Friday, Aug. 8 and runs until Saturday, Aug.
9, 2008.

Flowers Canada Retail, the national association for retail florists, is
hosting the event to fulfill the floral needs of retailers from start
to finish. The show will kick off Friday morning with a student CAFA
competition taking place in the gallery at the Ontario Flower Growers.
Anyone interested in participating can pick-up forms at OFG or contact
Helen Kall at OFG for more information. The winner will be announced on
Saturday.

On Friday afternoon florists are invited to register for the Flowers For Kids program (www.flowersforkids.org).
The Flowers for Kids fee is $50 per store and those interested are
encouraged to register soon as space is limited. The program provides
florists with specific training so they can teach the Flowers For Kids
program to a class of four-to-six graders and introduce them to the
world of flowers. The children learn about cut flowers, where they come
from, how to care for them and how to make a bouquet. As an added
bonus, the children even get the take the bouquet home!

On Saturday, attendees can visit the Floral Paradise trade show where
many of the exhibitors include Mississauga wholesalers and other floral
related businesses and partners. Design seminars will be held to
showcase the latest in floral trends. Florists can also attend an ‘Ask
the Grower’ segment where both the retailer and wholesaler will have
the opportunity to listen and speak with local growers and growers from
around the world to discuss industry issues, product care and
development.

The event finishes with a dinner and dance – the perfect opportunity to
network with others in the industry and enjoy an evening of food and
dancing!
