The report says agriculture and related industries employ 2.1 million people and account for $101 billion worth of Canada’s gross domestic product.

It says consumers want more variety, more convenience, and more environmentally friendly and healthier food choices.
And there is growing demand for organic and halal products.
The report also says Canadians enjoy some of the lowest food costs in the world
