June 9, 2010, Brownsville, Ont. – A farm worker is recovering in
hospital from serious injuries suffered when a jammed auger he was
working on started up.

June 9, 2010, Brownsville, Ont. – A farm worker is recovering in hospital from serious injuries suffered when a jammed auger he was working on started up.

Emergency crews were called after the accident Tuesday night on a farm near Brownsville, in southwestern Ontario.

The auger had suddenly activated and the worker was pulled in.

Another worker quickly hit the emergency shut off, but the 32-year-old victim suffered several cuts and broken bones.

He was airlifted to hospital in London, Ont., with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
