Greenhouse IPM: Achieving Sustainable Biocontrol Workshop

Friday 23 February 2018, 08:30am - 01:30pm
Location: Rittenhouse Hall, Vineland Campus
Feeling a bit lost when it comes to pest management? Searching for advice on how to achieve a sustainable, long-term biocontrol program for your operation?

Leading this new workshop will be Mike Short, a professional crop scout and IPM consultant for more than 20 years. He’ll be passing on his expertise on monitoring, and how to achieve longstanding success with biocontrol. Mike has regularly been a part of the annual OMAFRA Floriculture IPM Workshop (which is currently not being offered in 2018).

Mike will be joined by Sean Chiki from Inocucor, lending expertise on the expanding role of microbials in ornamental production.

This workshop targets new greenhouse employees and first year scouts, and is also a place for regular employees/growers to gain new tips and tools to improve their current IPM program. The workshop will include live samples of insects and affected plants so you can get up close and personal with them.
