Heat from compost part of group's greenhouse plan
Unity Gardens, a group in Indiana, is planning a greenhouse that will use heat from composting.
The group is hoping to building the greenhouse using one of several $10,000 prizes being given away by ‘Chase Bank Community Giving’ (a part of the J.P. Morgan Chase banking system). See details here.
The group is also looking into aquaponics: the ‘Growing Power Model’ in Milwaukee, where they are sustainably producing a million pounds of food (greenhouse produce and fish) on just three acres of urban land. Growing Power has multiple sites and both groups have many educational and sustainability initiatives.
The Unity Garden website is here and the Growing Power website is here.
