Feds take notice of wind energy concerns in Ontario

Federal Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq announced this week that her ministry will initiate an in-depth scientific study into possible adverse effects of living near wind power projects.

The Globe and Mail reports that Aglukkaq stated that she is responding to public concern.

Ontario’s Liberal government has encouraged the installation of solar generation and industrial-size wind power turbines, but Premier Dalton McGuinty has run into resistance from rural landowners over the issue. For more, visit here.
