Ontario PC leader says 'affordable energy supply' needed for growth of province's greenhouse industry

The Ontario Greenhouse Alliance (TOGA) is a strategic partnership between the two organizations representing Ontario’s greenhouse floriculture growers and Ontario’s greenhouse vegetable growers.
At the recent Ontario Greenhouse Alliance annual luncheon at Queen’s Park, PC Leader Tim Hudak said the expansion of the southern Ontario greenhouse sector needs an 'affordable energy supply' to move forward.
“With over 250 greenhouse operations, Niagara is a leader in Ontario’s $1.25 billion greenhouse industry,” said Hudak. “Niagara operators employ over 3,000 people and are looking to expand. It’s vital we create the right environment to support this growth by getting our fiscal house in order, eliminating red tape, and ensuring an affordable energy supply.”
