U of G students demonstrate plant-growth chamber for Canadian Space Agency

The challenge continues for a team of University of Guelph student scientists working on ways to grow food in space. The U of G Canada GOOSE team was visited by the panel of judges from the CSA and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to assess their full-scale plant-growth chamber, one of the final four entries into the Deep Space Food Challenge.

This report provides a summary of the year’s activities, highlights the program audit and participation trends and offers a preview of objectives and plans for 2024.

Canadian greenhouse grower takes home two Global Packaging Awards

At this year's PAC Global Awards Competition, Nature Fresh Farms received Best in Class for its HallowYoom and Award of Distinction for its Organic Greenhouse Berries in the Package Innovation Design – Labels category.


Grower Summit focused on growing beyond limits returns Leamington on March 6th.

The ACT Group, a collaboration of four industry-leading providers, is set to host their 2nd Leamington Grower Summit on March 6th. Greenhouse growers are invited to this in-person, half-day event to learn about new research and technology applications from ACT group members Grodan, Philips Horticulture LED Solutions, Priva, and Svensson. Battling blight

There are many strategies to control fungal diseases in greenhouses including use of registered chemicals, pesticides and other products. There are many biocontrol agents available that can be used in the root zone. Many fungal diseases can be controlled by paying attention to climate strategies.
