Dutch pepper ‘dumping’ complaint update

Oct. 8, 2010, Ottawa – The president of the Canada Border Services
Agency (CBSA) recently made a final determination of dumping pursuant
in respect of greenhouse bell peppers originating in or exported from
the Netherlands.

Oct. 8, 2010, Ottawa – The president of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) recently made a final determination of dumping pursuant in respect of greenhouse bell peppers originating in or exported from the Netherlands.

The results of the investigation reveal that 99.4 per cent of the goods exported to Canada during the period of investigation were dumped by a weighted average margin of 193 per cent, expressed as a percentage of the export price.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal is continuing its inquiry into the question of injury to the domestic industry and will make an order or finding by Oct. 19, 2010. Provisional duties will continue to apply until this date.
