Aug 28, 2013, Halifax — A new licence plate in Nova Scotia in encouraging people to buy locally produced goods.

Aug 28, 2013, Halifax — A new licence plate in Nova Scotia in encouraging people to buy locally produced goods.

The optional plate will be issued on request to passenger and light commercial vehicles up to 5,000 kilograms.

Standard registration fees will apply, in addition to a $50 dollar donation.

The government says money raised through the plates will go to the Select Nova Scotia Fund, which sponsors events supporting local products and industries.
