July 8, 2008, Bellingham, WA — The North American Greenhouse/Hothouse Vegetable Growers (NAGHVG), an association formed after three years of research and review to protect and support superior standards of excellence in food safety and quality, has developed its own certification standards. The NAGHVG was founded by five leading North American greenhouse growers.

Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG) take food safety very seriously and were the first group of growers anywhere in North America to regulate food safety in their industry.

April 11, 2008, Delta, B.C. – The Government of Canada has awarded a $750,000 grant for the B.C. greenhouse vegetable industry as part of its commitment to providing farmers with the resources they need to improve their long-term economic, social and environmental sustainability.
