Grower Day: Vegetables

May 19, 2011 – Kurt Parbst of Svensson will be the busiest person at Grower Day this year. He will have a pair of talks on June 17, one each for vegetable and ornamental growers, and both geared towards energy savings and environmental improvement strategies.

Greenhouse Canada editor Dave Harrison will moderate the vegetable sessions.

Speakers will include:
Rachel Carson Rachel Carson of Plant Products … Essentials of Micronutrient nutrition in Greenhouse vegetables. This seminar will outline some of the many important functions micronutrients play in greenhouse vegetable products, symptoms of micronutrient deficiencies and options for correction.
David Arkell
David Arkell of 360 Energy … Common Energy Saving Tips and Techniques. By learning and implementing these changes greenhouses can see decreases of up to five per cent in their costs and energy consumption.
Gillian Ferguson Gillian Ferguson, greenhouse vegetable IPM specialist with OMAFRA … An Integrated Pest Management update to help you keep pest and disease pressures under control.
Kurt Parbst Kurt Parbst of Svensson … The latest screening strategies with vegetable crops, and why you can’t afford not to grow with them.
Shalin Khosla Shalin Khosla, greenhouse vegetable specialist with OMAFRA … A crop management update, including the latest industry trends and technologies.
