September 3, 2008, Milton, Ont. – Landscape Ontario (LO) is working to create the first nationwide post-consumer horticultural plastics recycling program in the world.
Aug. 7, 2008, Milton, Ont. — Landscape Ontario will unveil some of the newest varieties of plants and flowers at a special open house taking place on Aug. 20 in Milton and Guelph. Each year, horticulturists at the University of Guelph plant new varieties in trial gardens to evaluate how they will fare in the gardens of consumers, parks and institutions around Ontario, and other similar environments.

Aug. 1, 2008, Niagara Falls, Ont. – Renowned horticulturist Dr. Allan Armitage will lead a pair of community garden tours hosted by the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture later this month.
The Niagara Pack Trials, a mini version of the more famous California industry tradition, attracted well over 100 people in June to a pair of locations in the Niagara Peninsula. Attendees came from Vermont, Illinois, Ohio, Québec and throughout Ontario.

On that day, Pick Ontario partnered with Foodland Ontario to hand out cut flowers at Queen’s Park. The crowd favourites – unofficially, but nonetheless by a landslide – appeared to be calla lilies and gerbera daisies.
