Canada’s national commodity list wages for 2021 now online

December 16, 2020  By Greenhouse Canada

Canada’s national commodity list (NCL) wages are now available online for 2021.

“The Consumer Price Index increased by 1.46% for the upcoming year and wages were adjusted to reflect this change,” says Western Agriculture Labour Initiative (WALI).

The NCL applies to both seasonal and non-seasonal work, and helps determine eligibility and pay for workers. “Access to the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Program and the Agricultural Stream [within the Temporary Foreign worker Program] is limited to employers hiring workers for the specified commodities on the NCL.”

The commodities in the primary agriculture sector include: apiary products; fruits and vegetables; mushrooms; flowers; nursery-grown trees, including Christmas trees; greenhouses and nurseries; pedigreed canola seed; sod; tobacco; bovine; dairy; duck; horse; mink; poultry; sheep; and swine.
