In a recent e-newslettter, Proven Winners highlighted why gardening can be the perfect way for consumers to stick to their New Year's Resolution and keep it going well into spring. PW reported that people can burn:

272 calories/hour - Gardening in General

306 calories/hour - Weeding

306 calories/hour - Pruning Trees or Shrubs

340 calories/hour - Digging

306 calories/ hour - Mowing with a power mower

**Assuming body weight of 150 lbs**
