Hair-raising fundraiser by Plant Products

Dec. 11, 2015, Markham, Ont. — Plant Products employees are always up for a challenge.

The company recently hosted its annual sales meeting. Beyond all the planning and budget discussions, it was a great opportunity to have a joint meeting with the Canadian and U.S. divisions.

In a spontaneous challenge, Dave Hill of the commercial division was challenged that if he could raise $1,000 from staff at the sales meeting after the first night, general manager Gord Jahn would shave off his moustache – which has been a permanent fixture for decades – and Scott Horsburgh would part with his locks at the end of the meetings on day 2.

The company pledged to match each dollar raised.

With great salesmanship on Hill’s behalf, and motivated by a good cause, the staff donated well over the challenge goal.

With the matching dollars by Plant Products, over $3,300 was donated to the Make a Wish Foundation Canada, whose mission is to “grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.”
