July 3, 2012 By Canadian Garden Centre & Nursery
July 3, 2012, New York — John Henry Company has launched a new French language website for the Canadian horticulture market.
The new website, www.BloomIQ.com, offers a searchable plant database with over 6,500 annuals, herbs, vegetables, perennials, trees, shrubs and indoor plants, as well as garden collections featuring ideas on how to combine plants to create containers, window boxes, hanging baskets, garden beds, or bouquets.
There are also over 40 feature articles on outdoor gardening, indoor plants, edibles and cut flowers, authored jointly with leading experts. Developed with consumers in mind, the plant database, design collections and articles provide in-depth information, inspiration and helpful tips on plant selection and care, as well as design ideas and troubleshooting advice.
"We are very excited to now have a bilingual website that connects customers to more information both in the store and when they arrive home," said Erin Willigan, vice-president of marketing for BloomIQ. "This connection enables growers, garden centres, supermarkets and retail florists in Canada to inspire, educate and assist customers, leading to a more successful experience."
To ensure horticultural accuracy, the site was translated by Noresco, a leading supplier of seeds and cuttings for annuals, vegetables, herbs, and edibles to growers in the Canadian market, working in conjunction with Horta-Craft Limited, a leader in print and packaging for the Canadian horticulture industry.
"BloomIQ.com is a solution-based information to help with gardening success for everyone who uses it," said Brian Lofgren, president of Horta-Craft. "We are excited that these additional resources are now available to the Canadian market."
BloomIQ.com is available as part of a turnkey marketing program that imprints scannable 2D codes on print and packaging to connect consumers to the website using a smartphone. The program provides graphic design and code creation services, URL management tools, website content, and reporting metrics to customers interested in digital marketing support for their products.
