BC operators need authorization to receive temporary foreign workers

BC farm operators planning to receive temporary foreign workers must first apply for provincial authorization.

The application form is available online, but farm operators must first complete a COVID-19 workplace risk assessment and implement a COVID-19 infection prevention and control protocol.

Once the form is complete, a site inspection will be conducted by provincial inspection staff, using the infection prevention and control protocol to determine a farm’s compliance and readiness to receive workers.

The site inspection will be conducted prior to the release of temporary foreign workers after their 14 day self-isolation period.
