Applications for 2021 Farm Leadership Program now accepted

Farm Management Canada is accepting applications for its 2021 National Farm Leadership Program.

The National Farm Leadership Program fits into busy farm life to help farmers identify the critical development areas that will have the greatest impact on their personal and professional lives.

“Not only is leadership good for business, it’s good for the well-being of the leader and those they work with,” states the press release.

Greenhouse growers are eligible for the program as well.

The next cohort of the National Farm Leadership Program will begin its journey on Jan. 25, 2021. The program takes place over eleven weeks through virtual learning. Monthly group coaching and personal coaching continues for the remainder of the calendar year to help participants realize their positive change.

The next program runs Jan. 25 – April 12. Program details include:

  • 11 weeks of structured online learning;
  • A personal leadership assessment against a global data set of leaders;
  • Create a personal plan to increase leadership effectiveness;
  • Unlimited individual and monthly group coaching for a year; and
  • Unlimited access to the LeaderLab (a private online community).

Led by certified executive coach and fourth generation farmer, Kelly Dobson who combines adult learning research, with neuroscience and IT, enabling leader development at any age.

This program is eligible for up to $2,500 cost-share funding for farmers in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland/Labrador, Prince Edward Island and Yukon Territory. Check with your provincial Ministry of Agriculture for eligibility requirements.
