Nov. 23, 2015, Niagara Falls, Ont. — This year’s Canadian Greenhouse Conference was a winner in the education program and in its soldout trade show.
The sessions were well attended, with topics ranging from IPM, labour management, crop nutrition, energy, water use optimization, retail, lighting and medical cannabis, to name a few. (Click on the images for more information.)
One CGC tradition is the booth awards program. CGC executive committee member Wayne Brown, who retired earlier this year as OMAFRA’s greenhouse floriculture specialist, handled the presentation duties.
Award winners included: Plant Material – Enza Zaden Canada (single booth), DeRuiter Seeds (101 to 300 square feet) and JVK (over 300 sq.ft.); Technology – Natural Insect Control (single booth), Horticraft (101 to 300 sq.ft.) and Machinerie SB (over 300 sq.ft.).
Next year’s conference will again be held at the Scotiabank Convention Centre. The dates are Oct. 5-6. For more information and updates, visit the CGC website.
