david_teulonDr. David Teulon, a world authority on thrips, will lead
a discussion on Monday, Feb. 8, at Rittenhouse Hall at the Vineland Research
and Innovation Centre
(4890 Victoria Avenue North in Vineland Station), near
St. Catharines. Directions: Exit 57 from
QEW and go North on Victoria Avenue. Enter first driveway on the left, just
past the North Service Road. Over the stone bridge, Rittenhouse Hall is the
first red brick building.

Dr. Teulon is currently
Portfolio Manager Bioprotection for the newly formed New Zealand Institute of
Plant and Food Research at Lincoln, New Zealand, where he has been based for
the last 14 years. He has postgraduate degrees in horticulture and entomology
from Lincoln University and has worked at research institutes in the
Netherlands, the U.S.  and Germany.
He is also an Honourary Research Associate at the Advanced Centre for
Bio-Protection at Lincoln University
. Dr. Teulon has a broad experience in plant
protection and biosecurity having worked in fruit, vegetable and arable crops
and forest systems. A patented product from his research team was recently
commercialized in Europe where it won an international environmental award.
