There are two other finalists: Karen Gardner, 24, owner of Roses Inc. Green Country in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and Miles Thompson, 25, store manager and greenhouse production coordinator with Wallace’s Garden Center in Bettendorf, Iowa.

The winner will be announced Monday evening (July 14) during Cultivate’14's Unplugged event at the Park Street Cantina at 8 p.m.

A large group of Alberta greenhouse colleagues, not surprisingly, are at the convention this year and will be attending the ceremonies.

Judges include Dale Bachman, chairman and CEO of Bachman’s Inc.; Bill Calkins, business manager of Independent Garden Centers with the Ball Horticultural Company; Judy Sharpton of Growing Places Marketing and a Green Profit columnist; and Matt Smith, Winner of the 2013 Young Retailer Award.
