ON AgriPump Rebate Program launches
March 27, 2018 By Greenhouse Canada
The AgriPump Rebate Program recently launched in Ontario, the first of its kind in the province.
Headed by Hydro One and Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc., the program offers rebates on constant-pressure pump kits used for agricultural operations – including greenhouses.
According to the release, upgrading to a constant-pressure pump has several benefits, including:
· Immediate rebate of up to $610 on the pump kit at point of purchase
· Energy savings of up to 40%
· Reduced maintenance costs
· Quick and easy set-up, with most systems installed within a day
· Reduced wear and tear from automatic pressure control
To be eligible, constant-pressure pump kits must be listed on the program’s qualified product list and be between 0.5 hp and 10 hp. Each kit contains a pump, motor, variable frequency drive and accessories. Eligible agricultural operations must operate in either Hydro One or Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. service territory.
“Water conservation and high energy costs are a big concern for farmers in the Niagara region and across the province,” said Drew Spoelstra, Director for Halton, Hamilton–Wentworth, Niagara North and Niagara South, Ontario Federation of Agriculture. “The Save on Energy Conservation Program and this type of cross-utility initiative to launch the AgriPump Rebate Program is great for agriculture.”
