Celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, A.M.A. Horticulture Inc. (A.M.A.) has introduced the new Ellepots by A.M.A. Grower Guide, a quick-reference guide to help growers and propagators make the right selections for their crop, enhance bench density and more.

“Since 1999, we’ve shipped over a billion Ellepots by A.M.A. across North America, and we’ve learned some things along the way. We hope this guide will give growers and propagators quick tips to improve quality, efficiency, labour savings and sustainability in their operations,” says Rick Bradt, who serves as A.M.A.’s managing director, together with his wife Connie Bradt-Monsma.

Ellepots by A.M.A. are billed as a sustainable solution for plant propagation. A.M.A. manufactures 15 sizes of Ellepots, with more than 100 tray options and several soil formulas and paper types, including options for organic growers.

“Everything is customized to suit the grower’s particular needs, and there are literally thousands of combinations to choose from,” says Craig Willett, manager of Ellepots & Pre-Fill at A.M.A. “We want to help make it easier for our customers and, of course, we’re always here to share more solutions and advice.”

The scannable, informative guide is now available as a free downloadable resource on A.M.A.’s website. It’s one way that A.M.A. is leaning into it’s 40th anniversary theme of ‘Always Learning, Always Growing.’

“This year is all about sharing what we’ve learned and promoting knowledge and collaboration within our horticulture community,” says Connie Bradt-Monsma. “We will be introducing more resources and opportunities over the course of the year to help everyone grow forward, together.”

40 years of learning

Since opening its doors in the spring of 1982, the family-owned horticulture supply business has grown to become a leading North American supplier, offering solutions for growers in a wide range of areas, including propagation, hydroponics, berries and more.

“They say age is just a number. After four decades of learning, growing and building partnerships within our industry, we feel more dynamic than ever,” says Connie.

Aside from finding solutions, A.M.A. sometimes invents new ones. Al’s Flower Pouch, the RootSmart propagation system, Thirst Quencher and the A.M.A. 60 growing container for organic greenhouse vegetables are just some of the company’s home-grown innovations.

“Learning is the backbone of growth in horticulture. It’s what drives us and our customers to move forward,” says Rick. “As we reflect on our 40th anniversary, we want to celebrate by bringing our community together with opportunities to learn and grow.”

“Our vision is to help cultivate the future of horticulture,” adds Connie. “For 40 years, we’ve been investing in this industry and the talented people who work in it, and we’ve seen incredible change and advancement. We want to celebrate that and keep the momentum going by offering learning opportunities to grow forward, together.”
