September 10, 2014  By Canadian Garden Centre & Nursery

Sept. 10, 2014, Downers Grove, IL – The National Garden Bureau has announced the three crops that will be featured in its popular "Year of the" program for 2015.

For annuals, 2015 will be the "Year of the Coleus." For perennials, it will be the "Year of the Gaillardia, and for vegetables and edibles, it will be the "Year of the Sweet Pepper."

Each year the National Garden Bureau's board of directors selects crops that are easy to grow and genetically diverse with lots of new varieties to choose from. Breeders, growers, brokers and garden centres are urged to consider these flowers and plants when planning  the 2015 season, as the program generates substantial publicity.
