Webinar to focus on crop control via LEDs

March 5, 2015 – LED horticultural lighting is a hot topic with growers these days and LumiGrow will be sharing some of its latest research during a webinar tomorrow (March 6).

This 30-minute webinar goes beyond energy efficiency and focuses on increasing plant quality, production and nutrition with LED light spectrums. It will be held at 2 p.m. EST.

Presenters include Dr. Youbin Zheng, environmental horticulture chair at the University of Guelph, and Dr. Melanie Yelton, director of research at LumiGrow.

This webinar will review the results of recent studies conducted at the University of Guelph and in-house at LumiGrow. Topics include light-driven influence over flavour in basil and lettuce; control of plant growth and flowering in zinnia; and how LED lighting outperforms HPS with greenhouse-grown gerbera for flower quality and longevity.
